Mr. Edward (Ed) McDaniel, Sr, 86, of LaGrange passed away Saturday night at Wellstar Hospice LaGrange surround by his loving family. Mr. McDaniel retired from Big Star as an Assistant Manager and Clark-Holder Clinic for 17 years and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and father-in-law and grandfather. He loved cars, going to car shows, and listening to and singing Southern Gospel Music. For many years Ed was a member of the Gospel Aires and the Johnson Family singing groups. Ed was a diehard Alabama Fan and a collector of many treasures. He will be sadly missed by his family. Heaven gained a sharp dressed man.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances McDaniel; and a son-in-law, Donnie Luke. Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Angie McDaniel, LaGrange, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Vicki McDaniel Hollaway and Ronald Hollaway; daughter, Rhonda Luke, LaGrange, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Zack and Adrienne McDaniel, Chris McDaniel and Jennifer Therrien, Brittney McDaniel, Austin Weiss, Hunter Arrington, Angel and Tim Blakely, Niki and Matt Batchelor; great grandchildren,  Greyson Luke Batchelor, Haleigh James Batchelor, Savannah Blakely Dakota Rose McDaniel, Mason Eli McDaniel, Lily Grace McDaniel;  great-great grandchildren, Oaklyn and Brantley Singleton; brothers, Clifford McDaniel, LaGrange, GA, Paul McDaniel, LaGrange, GA; sister, Evelyn Waugh, LaGrange, GA; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Edward (Ed) McDaniel, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with the Reverend Brad Thompson, Dr. Charles W. Chapman, and Reverend Donald Yancey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home (Monday) evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Entombment will follow the service in Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
