A woman has died after being thrown from a boat in the area of the Sunny Point Access on Mooty Bridge Road Thursday night.

Kelle Heath, 56, of LaGrange was pulled from the water unresponsive after she and an adult male were knocked into the water from their boat, according to a Troup County Sheriff’s Office press release. Heath and the man were thrown from the boat when a large wave from a passing boat hit their boat, according to TCSO.

Law enforcement was dispatched to the scene at 8:17 p.m., and CPR and other lifesaving measures were immediately started on Heath and continued while enroute to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. Heath was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the ER. This incident is being investigated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The condition of the male was not released.
