The Thursday Lunch Club met at noon May 2, in the Fellowship Hall of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church. There were 127 guests.

The tables were decorated with a summer beach theme by the Hannah Circle of the LaGrange First UMC.

TLC Chair Joyce Morgan Young introduced a special guest. Render McLeod a student in LaGrange and a finalist for the Optimist International Oratorical Contest. 

Render recited his speech about optimism related to significant events in United States history.  

The attendees were then entertained by the music of Front Porch Collective. Callie Hammond on fiddle and Nick Mayfield on guitar and mandolin, performed several “American Roots” bluegrass songs. Students, Wesley on violin, Whit on guitar and Hooper on bass joined them for the final song. 

The next meeting of TLC will be Thursday Aug. 1, 2019, in the Fellowship Hall of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church.  

The guest entertainment will be Judge Alan Keeble who will entertain with his stories.
