Mr. George Terrell Allen, age 87, of LaGrange, passed away on June 23, 2019 at the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center.  Mr. Allen was born on May 24, 1932 in Odessadale, Georgia to the late Lovic Lawson Allen, Sr. and Arrie Mae Dent Allen.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marilyn Adelle Taylor Allen; brothers, James Lee Allen and Lovic Lawson Allen, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Mae Upchurch, Eula Render Hatcher and Mary Louise Hall.  Survivors include his daughters, Lisa Shields and her husband Mike and Cherie Bebow and her husband Peter; brother, Aubrey Dent Allen; sisters, Alice Marie Upchurch and Hazel Eloise Jones; grandchildren, Megan Shields, Jordan Shields Hartzog (Marshall), Emily Shields, Peyton Bebow and Brock Bebow; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.  Mr. Allen, upon graduation from high school, accepted a basketball scholarship to Young Harris College, transferring after two years to continue his education and love for basketball to Birmingham Southern.  Following his college years, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was the owner of West Georgia Business Forms in LaGrange and a Board Member of the Troup County Board of Education.  Services for Mr. Allen will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Max McCord and Rev.
