A man was shot in the face on Sunday night in LaGrange and was airlifted to Grady Hospital for treatment, according to a LaGrange Police Department press release.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Houston Street in reference to a person shot at 11:02 p.m. According to Sgt. Robert Kirby, the wound was considered serious because it was a head injury.

However, the victim was reportedly conscious and alert when he was life flighted.

LPD is asking for assistance in identifying the person or people responsible for the shooting or any information regarding the case.

“We are asking folks if they know anything to please contact us,” Kirby said.
