Every puppy has its dog day

NFL training camps are taking place, and no team has as much hype as the Cleveland Browns.
Any football fan knows that all eyes are on Odell Beckham Jr., Baker Mayfield and company
after a great offseason. But NFL superstars aren’t the only ones getting attention this week.
About 70 animals from LaGrange are part of the Cleveland Browns’ “Puppy Pound” this week,
where dogs from the Northeast Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are
featured for adoption.
Only a few days into training camp, 36 dogs had already been adopted, according to media
reports in Cleveland.
This is a fantastic idea and has been really successful.
LaGrange Animal Services has done a great job of cutting down the number of euthanized
animals at the shelter the last few years. More than 900 animals were transported through the
Puppy Pipeline last year. Puppy Pipeline is a nonprofit that transports puppies, kittens, dogs and
cats to no kill shelters that will find them forever homes.
We’re hopeful all of the LaGrange animals — and all of the others — will be adopted at Browns
training camp, but more importantly, we’re thankful for the city of LaGrange’s partnership with
Puppy Pipeline, which has given a lot of animals a chance to find a forever home.
