The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at the West Point Project Management Office in West Point, Georgia announced last week that permits and maps are now available for the 2019-2020 hunting season.

A permit is required to hunt on lands managed by USACE at West Point Project. The permit fee is $25.

“We encourage all hunters to examine the hunting maps and permits closely to ensure compliance with all rules, regulations and weapon restrictions,” said David Barr, supervisory park ranger at West Point Project. “In addition to these rules and regulations, all state hunting regulations also apply for the state in which the permit holder is hunting.”

Persons requesting a West Point Project Hunting Permit must provide their name, mailing address and telephone number.

Permits may be purchased in person with cash or a major credit card at the West Point Lake Visitor Center.

To make a purchase by telephone with a credit card, call (706) 645-2937. Hunters may also mail a check or money order only (made payable to F&A Officer, USACE Mobile) to the following address: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, West Point Project Management Office, 500 Resource Management Drive, West Point, Georgia, 31833-9517.

USACE West Point Project manages approximately 10,000 acres of land for hunting use.

West Point Project Hunting Permits do not apply to the West Point Wildlife Management Area, which is roughly 10,000 acres as well and managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
