Mr. John Malvin Banks, Jr.

John Malvin Banks, Jr. passed away July 31, 2019 in Bandera, Texas. He was born in LaGrange on Sept. 13, 1959 to John and Midylene Banks. A 1977 graduate of LaGrange High School, John enjoyed a career in radio broadcasting and engineering including stints at WLAG in LaGrange and WELR in Roanoke, AL. His radio career took him to stations in New Orleans and Lake Charles, Louisiana and last, Kerrville, Texas. While in Louisiana, John helped organize and was a charter member of Southwest Louisiana Grange. John was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville, TX. John is survived by his mother, Midylene Banks of LaGrange, sister, Martha Stefenoni, Santa Rosa, CA and nephew and his wife, Joseph and Hannah Stefenoni, State College, PA and numerous cousins.

An internment service of John’s cremains will be conducted by Rev. Paul Botica, Friday, August 16 th , 3 p.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery, LaGrange. Rev. Stanley Yarbrough will preside at a Celebration Reunion of John’s family and friends, Saturday, August 17 th , 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Cedarcrest Community Church, 2380 Roanoke Rd., LaGrange, GA.
