Mr. Mark Vanness, 64, of Newnan, along with his Wife owned and operated the Fractured Flamingo at the Marina Lanett, Alabman passed away Thursday morning after a long illness.

Mark was born January 5, 1955 in Milwaukee Wisconsin the son of the late Wallace Bernard and Geraldine King Vanness, Mark an engineer by trade was involved in Highway construction most of his life. Mark and his wife Joan loved owning and operating the Fractured Flamingo at the Marina.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Wipperfurth Vanness; sons, Mark Vanness, Jr., and Matthew Vanness; step-children, Jeffrey Hecker, Julie Hecker, and Jessica Duchac; six grandchildren, and another in February; sister, Amy (Tom) of Milwaukee; brother, David (Erin) of PA; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Restaurant, Fractured Flamingo.
