Two men robbed after leaving Walmart

The LaGrange Police Department responded to an armed robbery on Private Road, also known as Walmart Road, at approximately 12:15 a.m. Friday morning.

According to a press release from LPD, the two victims who were involved were on the roadway when the incident occurred.

“They were walking back from Walmart,” LPD Detective Ley Wynne said. “That’s when they were approached by a black male on the road and he pulled a gun on them and demanded their property.”

One victim reported that the suspect took his cellphone, wallet and money. The other victim involved reported that his gold chain was “snatched” from his neck, according to the press release.

Criminal investigations were notified and are currently investigating this case.

According to LPD, both victims reported that the suspect took off running toward Mooty Bridge Road.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s who had a large stomach and was wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt with a design on the front, according to LPD.
