Four arrested in drug case

The LaGrange Police Department and deputies with the Troup County Sherriff’s Office arrested four subjects after the investigation of a trafficking methamphetamine case.

According to a press release from LPD, officers stopped a vehicle that Steven Barber, 38, was driving after receiving information that he was in possession and trafficking methamphetamine. Kyleigh Jones, 27, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be hiding methamphetamine in her crotch area.

Both Jones and Barber were arrested for trafficking methamphetamine.

The press release said that during the time of the stop TCSO deputies were contacted to serve an active search warrant at Barber’s residence.

During the search of the residence, TCSO arrested Toby Payne, 33, and Summer Nicole Bowles, 24, and charged them both with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to LPD, methamphetamine and firearms were located in personal property belonging to Barber. He then was charged with an additional count of possession of methamphetamine and three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
