The Lafayette Christian School Cougars evened their record at 1-1 with a 49-14 road win over Lanier Christian on Friday night in Flowery Branch.

Quarterback Cason Firth did a lot of the damage for the Cougars with six touchdown runs, four of which covered more than 40 yards.

Ben Dixon added a touchdown run for Lafayette Christian, and Firth had success  in the passing game.

“We were able to pass, and it was a good balanced attack,” said Billy Bryant, Lafayette Christian’s first-year head coach. “And the defense rose to the occasion. The defense and offensive lines dominated the line.”

With a comfortable lead, Bryant was able to empty the bench and make sure everyone to play.

Lafayette Christian will try to make it two in a row when it heads to Albany to play Sherwood Christian on Friday.
