LaGrange police officers responded to home that was allegedly burglarized in Calumet Village Tuesday morning at approximately 4 a.m.
“The wife and kids were home asleep while the husband was at work when this happened,” said LPD Sgt. William Nelson. “When he came home, he started looking for his video game system, and then he found it missing.”
Nelson said that the husband also found the rear window of the home open and a bucket under it, that LPD believes was used to climb through the window with.
“The window was unlocked,” Nelson said.
The case is being further investigated by the Criminal Investigations Section.
Nelson recommends to make sure homeowners always lock up their car and home at night.
“We put out several times a week that you should always lock it up or take it with you,” Nelson said. “When it is time to go to bed, make sure your car, doors and windows are locked.”
