The City of LaGrange will host the 2019 Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference Sept. 8 through Sept. 11 at Great Wolf Lodge LaGrange.

The Georgia Governor’s Tourism Conference is the state’s largest tourism conference. The three-day conference provides educational sessions and keynote speakers relevant to the tourism industry. Hundreds of political and tourism leaders will be in LaGrange during this time.

“It’s a really big deal for the Governor’s Tourism Conference to be held in LaGrange,” LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton said. “With hundreds of tourism professionals from across Georgia coming next week, we can really showcase all the great tourism assets that we have in Troup County. Having the conference center at Great Wolf has really been a game changer for us in terms of hosting these kind of events.”

Monday, Sept. 9, Thornton will speak at the opening luncheon. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp will speak at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

“The Visit LaGrange Board of Directors is excited that the Georgia Tourism Conference will be in LaGrange next week. All of our members are registered to attend,” said Bobby Carmichael, chairman of the newly created 501©6 Visit LaGrange Tourism Board. “We see this as a great networking and educational experience for us all. Thanks to all who have put in the hard work to make this happen.”
