Artisans on the Square in Greenville will host its second solo exhibit for abstract artist Jaasiel Barrientos of LaGrange from Saturday, Sept. 28 until Nov. 2, opening with a reception Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Jaasiel has been studying, applying and developing new techniques in fine art for more than a decade. His work includes abstracts and impressionistic landscapes which incorporate bright colors. He applies his talent and imagination by experimenting with oil paints combined with other materials to create textures and effects that cannot be duplicated exactly.

Originally from Monterey, Mexico, Jaasiel has lived in LaGrange for almost 20 years and has become a recognized artist and member of Visual Arts Alliance of LaGrange.  Since early 2017, he has been the manager for both art galleries in Greenville, which also include The Print Shop Gallery.
