Sister Willie Belle Burts Taylor

Sister Willie Belle Burts Taylor passed away Tuesday. Sister Taylor was born to the late Rev. Battle Moses and Plumia Brewer Burts on November 10, 1948, at the City and County Hospital (West Georgia Medical Center). She united with  Arbor Grove Baptist Church; graduated from East Depot High School, Class of 1967. In addition, she graduated from American College in Jacksonville, Florida and was a member of Alpha Beta Chi Sorority.

She was previously employed by Drake High School in Thomaston, GA; and a School Traffic Guard for the City of LaGrange GA (35 plus years), Security Guard for Shorewood Packaging in LaGrange, GA, and worked a short time at the LaGrange Wal-mart before her health began to decline.

Survivors include three children, Christopher Taylor; two daughters Carol Akotey, and Valerie Taylor, all of LaGrange, GA. two grandsons; one sister, Mary Burts; two brothers, John (Minnie) Burts, Nathaniel Burts all of LaGrange; one aunt, Aggie LaRue, Inglewood, CA., three uncles  Amos (Pauline) Burts, of Detroit, MI., Andrew Burts, and David (Bessie) Burts, all of LaGrange, GA; and special relatives.

The Service will be Tuesday at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, Fannin Street.  The family will be at their home at 380 N. Page Street.
