Trick-or-treating will come early at the LaGrange Animal Services Building this Halloween season.

The public is invited to attend the LaGrange-Troup County Humane Society and City of LaGrange Animal Services’ Howl-O-Ween event Saturday, Oct. 19.

“This will be a safe place for children to come and trick-or-treat, while also getting a chance to look at the animals,” said LaGrange Animal Services Supervisor Chris Bussey. “They will be able to look at them and hopefully some animals will be adopted by the end of the event.”

Children and family pets are encouraged to dress up to enjoy full Halloween trick-or-treating experience at the shelter. This event will give families a fun and different way to possibly adopt a new furry member of their family.

“It’s good for people to come out and give the animals some exposure to the public,” Bussey said. “All available adoptable animals are half price throughout the month of October and will be on Saturday as well.”

Bussey said the animal shelter has had such success from this event last year, so they were excited to do it again this year.

“The LaGrange Youth Council will also be participating in this event,” Bussey said. “We are co-hosting the event with the Humane Society and the LaGrange high school THRIVE Club.”

The puppy room was completely redecorated in Halloween décor that children will be able to take photos with puppies with in.

“This will be a really good event for families to bring their children to,” Bussey said. “We’re just trying to do more stuff that we can invite the community to. A lot of people don’t realize where the animal shelter is, even though we’ve been here now for going on 14 years.”

The LaGrange Animal Shelter is located at 1390 Orchard Hill Road. a
