Mr. Harvey Jackson “Jack” Boone, age 63, of Five Points, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 21st, 2019 at the EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley, Alabama.

Mr. Boone was born in LaGrange, Georgia on May 1st, 1956 to the late Harvey Boone and Mary Will Dodgen Boone.

Jack was a lifelong resident of Five Points, Alabama and was a neighbor and friend to all who knew him.  He was a very social person and enjoyed sitting on the front porch rocking in his chair and waving at everyone who passed by. Many times were spent with friends and family on the front porch visiting.  He loved being around other people and enjoyed conversation with each one of them. Everyone knew Jack for having a great sense of humor that could liven up any occasion.

At a very young age, Jack opened his own business – Boone’s Grocery & Fishing Supplies. The store was located on State Line Rd within walking distance of West Point Lake. For many years, the store was a gathering place for local residents and people vacationing on the lake. The family recalls all of the relationships and memories made as friends who would visit for hours in the rocking chairs surrounding the front counter. Jack also worked in the shipping departments of numerous plants in the LaGrange area. In the later years of his career, he was an owner/operator of a small trucking company and then drove for various companies in LaGrange.

Jack is survived by his wife, Connie Gary Boone; sons, Jeremy Clay Boone, Brandon Seth Boone and his wife, Dana; and his first soon to be born grandson, Jackson Wayne Boone.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 2 p.m. EDT at the State Line Christian Church, where Jack was a member, 3015 County Road 288, Five Points, Alabama 36855. Entombment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley Thursday evening from 6 p.m. EDT until 8 p.m. EDT.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
