Lewis Leon Goode, Jr., age 94, of LaGrange, passed away on October 27, 2019 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. He was born on March 10, 1925 to the late Lewis Goode Sr. and Eleanor Lawrence Goode in Atlanta, Georgia. He was part of the Greatest Generation who proudly served his country in the United States Army Airforce and was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 70 years. He was also a past member of Rotary International, Shriners, Highland Country Club, Loyal Order of Moose, and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Mr. Goode was the second generation, after his father, to own and manage Ideal Cleaners in LaGrange. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, O’Leila Embrey Goode; daughter, Laura Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Cecelia B. Goode; son, Lewis Goode, III (Cathy); grandchildren, Lewis Goode, IV, Lanier Goode, Lesley Leveritt (Levi), Lindsey Foster (Linny); great granddaughter, Laura Ree Foster; son in law, Randy Smith; faithful caregivers, Shelia Marshal, Kathy Woodard, Carolyn Day, Deidre Williams, Jasmine Shavers; extended family and friends.

Family will have visitation on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. at the church with Dr. John Beyers and Pastor Ben Wills officiating. Private interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations be made to WellStar West Georgia Hospice or First United Methodist Church Meals on Wheels/Soup Kitchen.
