Ms. Ruby Kate Gilbert passed away Saturday. She was born March 26, 1955 in Troup County Georgia to the late Walter and Jennie Lou Gilbert, she was the second of six siblings.

She united with Union Chapel Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an Usher, graduated from Troup High School, Class of 1974, and was a domestic worker.

Survivors include four children LaQuisha Gilbert, Jon (Judy) Gilbert, Moneka (Kendrell) Gilbert, and Tiffany (Jarvis) Gilbert, all of LaGrange, GA; three children she reared as her own:  CJ Madden, Jedda Madden, and Timerian Gilbert; ten grandchildren; siblings Mary (Dewery) Davenport, Chattanooga, TN; Vivian (Gregory) Smith, Atlanta GA; Otis (Salandra) Gilbert, LaGrange, GA; Timothy Gilbert, Dallas,GA; Stacey Gilbert, LaGrange, GA; three aunts: Louvonia Motin, Pine Mountain, GA; Jeanette Brooks, Jefferson, GA; Josephine Gates, LaGrange, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

The Service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Burks Chapel UM Church. The family will be at their home at 1102 Third Avenue.
