It’s tip time for the Troup High basketball teams.

Troup’s boys’ and girls’ teams, who are both coming off successful 2018-2019 seasons, will get things started with their regular-season openers at Harris County on Tuesday.

Troup’s teams finish the week with games at Heard County on Friday.

Troup plays its home openers on Nov. 26 against Upson-Lee.

Troup’s girls’ team went 17-9 last season, and it finished second to Sandy Creek in the Region 5-AAAA tournament before falling to Oconee County 41-28 in the first round of the state tournament.

All of the key players from that team, including senior and leading scorer Amber Gilbert, return this season.

Troup’s boys’ team was 17-10 last season, and it earned a third-place finish in the Region 5-AAAA tournament before losing to Stephens County 62-59 in a first-round game at state.
