Kinnersley named new Troup County road superintendent

J. Kevin Kinnersley, P.E. is the new Troup County road superintendent, effective Nov. 6, according to a press release from the Troup County Board of Commissioners.

Kinnersley has over 20 years of professional experience in design and engineering services, where he managed large-scale construction projects and supervised the design and development of transportation, commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Kinnersley has served as Troup County civil engineer since 2009.

According to the press release, Kinnersley has demonstrated strong skills in engineering design and project management, and he has acquired extensive knowledge regarding Troup County Roads and Engineering. 

“I look forward to working with the great people in our organization while managing the day-to-day operations with intentions of making necessary improvements and upgrades as needed,” Kinnersley said.

As road superintendent, he will be responsible for the planning, prioritizing, scheduling, directing, managing and supervising road construction projects and maintenance activities, among other essential duties. He began the role as interim Troup County road superintendent in early October.

He graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering technology. He resides in Troup County with his wife of 22 years, Jana. They have two children, Caleb (who passed away in 2011) and Anna Beth, and are currently providing foster care for one child.
