Lincoln Anderson delivered a memorable all-around performance to help the LaGrange College Panthers collect their first win of the season.

Anderson, a junior from LaGrange Academy, scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as LaGrange College (1-3) beat Bob Jones 85-72 on Saturday afternoon at Mariotti Gym.

Anderson was 9-of-15 from the field, and he also made all three of his free-throw attempts.

Julian Cameron also had a big day for the Panthers with 25 points, and he was 7-of-7 from the free-throw line.

It was a much-needed win for the Panthers, who had dropped three hard-fought and close games to start the season.

Anderson had one of the most complete performances of his college career to help the Panthers prevail.

“Lincoln had only one rebound and got in some foul trouble (on Friday) and wanted to come out and make his presence known,” LaGrange College head coach Kendal Wallace said. “I felt like he did that the entire night.”

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: LaGrange College ran its winning streak to four with Saturday’s 67-47 home win over Pensacola Christian.

Mykelli Taylor scored 17 points to help the Panthers improve to 4-1.

Sarah Evans added 12 points for the Panthers, Jahpera McEachin contributed 10 points, and Adreona Bowen scored eight points.

“Our intensity and focus have been impressive the last two games,” LaGrange College head coach Lee Buchanan said. “The entire team has been working diligently and we are starting to see positive results.”
