Troup County has launched a holiday toy drive for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots as a part of their United Way donation campaign, according to a press release from the county. The toy drive will benefit children of Troup County and will be donated to The Empty Stocking Fund of LaGrange and Hogansville, as well as the local Salvation Army.

The county is welcoming new, unwrapped toy donations from the public and will have several convenient drop-off donation sites available. The program generally provides toys and books for children up to age 12. The following locations will be accepting donations: Troup County Government Center (100 Ridley Ave., LaGrange), Mike Daniel Recreation Center (1220 Lafayette Pkwy., LaGrange) Troup County Sheriff’s Office (130 Sam Walker Dr., LaGrange), Troup County Fire Department Station 1 (2471 Hamilton Rd., LaGrange) and LaGrange-Callaway Airport (200 Airport Pkwy., LaGrange).

Marine Corps Toys for Tots was founded from the directive of the Marine Corps in 1991. The goal of their public charity is to help provide hope through the gift of Christmas to the less fortunate children of America. Troup County’s holiday toy drive for Toys for Tots will continue for three weeks, and donations will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, before being distributed to local children in need.
