Children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus and tell him their Christmas wishes Saturday morning at the Bellevue historic home.

The second annual Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the Bellevue LaGrange Woman’s Club, will be from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages three to eight. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

“Santa will be dressed in old world, 19th century attire to go along with the house,” said Bellevue Lagrange Woman’s Club President Valerie Cardwell. “This is the second year we’ve done this, and it just gives the children the chance to experience historic Bellevue in a fun way.”

Admission will include a pancake breakfast, Christmas craft activity, digital picture with Santa, and a Christmas book and story in cooperation with Success by Six. 

“Each child is getting a really nice Christmas book,” Cardwell said. “We really want everybody to be able to come and experience Bellevue. It is a fun activity to provide to the children in the community, and we hope it’ll be successful where we can keep doing it.”

The cost is $10 per child and $5 for adults, if adults want the breakfast.

“We want to expose children to the only National Historic Landmark in the area,” Cardwell said.

Reservation for Breakfast with Santa and payment is due by Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.

Funds from the event will go towards the maintenance of the historic home.

“This is all about making great memories of Christmas, Santa and getting a new book,” said chairperson Kathleen Ernest. “It is just a family fun event all about making those new memories.”

Additionally, the woman’s club will host its annual Christmas tea Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.

“Our Christmas tea is a traditional afternoon high tea,” Cardwell said. “The menu will feature four sweets and four savory’s.”

The event is by reservation only and can take up to 60 guests.

“This is a tradition in LaGrange that people have come to and anticipate every year,” Cardwell said. “We serve four to six different types of teas, and some are a little more popular than others.”

The house is currently being worked on and decorated for the upcoming holiday events.

“We are trying to do more and more things to reach out in the community,” Cardwell said.

The cost is $20 per person and due at time of entry. The reservation deadline for the tea is Dec. 9.
