Panthers’ Haynes honored

Peyton Haynes, who enjoyed a fantastic senior season for the LaGrange College football team, has been named to the AFCA Division III Coaches’ All-American team.

Haynes was a first-team member of the team that was announced last week.

Haynes, also a first-team selection to the all-USA South team, set a program record with seven interceptions last season, and he had 33 tackles, three fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble.

He had three interceptions against Apprentice, and two interceptions against Maryville.

“What a tremendous accomplishment for Peyton Haynes,” said Earl Chambers, LaGrange College’s head coach. “He’s been through a lot of over the last few years and I’m extremely excited for him and his family. This is a huge accomplishment for our football program and what we are trying to build here at LaGrange College We couldn’t be more proud of him for all he has done for our school and football program.”
