Harvey Lee Moore, Sr., 84, of LaGrange, GA peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Hope Center Memory Care in Fayetteville, GA.

Mr. Moore was born April 2, 1935 in LaGrange, GA to the late James Edward Moore and Beulah Edna Anthony Moore. He was a member of Callaway Baptist Church and retired as a Mail Clerk for the United States Postal Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Lee Moore, Jr.; and two brothers, Byron Tomlinson and Charles Tomlinson.

Mr. Moore leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 65 years, Sarah A. Pitts Moore; children, Jimmy (Elaine) Moore, Terry (Mike) White, Linda (Joe) Beck, and Scotty Moore; grandchildren, CJ (Kacey) Moore, Jason (Tammy) Moore, Nate (Emliee) Moore, Christin (Judson) Cassell, Levi (Camie) Bates, Orry (Cassie) Jeter, Amber (Walt) Graham, Brannon Moore Weathers, and Fletcher Moore; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Gladys (Buddy) James; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to his extended family, the staff of Hope Center Memory Care and Southern Grace Hospice for their excellent care of Mr. Harvey L. Moore, Sr.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jimmy McMillian and Pastor Tim Hogg officiating. Burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
