TCSO investigates home invasion on New Hutchinson Mill Road

A firearm, cash and jewelry were taken during a home invasion on New Hutchinson Mill Road Monday morning, according to a press release from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

At 6:23 a.m. Monday, deputies with the TCSO were dispatched to the 900 block of New Hutchinson Mill Road. Victims told police that two unknown males entered the home wearing masks and gloves and kicked in the front door. One victim told TCSO that suspects jumped on top of him in his bedroom and pointed a gun in his face demanding money, guns and cell phones. One of the suspects pistol-whipped the man in the head, causing a laceration on the forehead and also took an undisclosed amount of money from his pocket.

The suspects ransacked the room, opening all drawers and flipping the mattress along with other rooms in the home, according to the press release. Two other people lived in the home, and they were also threatened by the suspects.
