All around the country on Wednesday, young men signed letters of intent to play college football at the school of their choice.

College football’s early signing day is all about recruits putting on the hat of their choosing and getting fans excited about what the future might hold in the process. A trio of Callaway football players, and one Troup Tiger saw lifelong dreams come true on Wednesday, signing to play college football.

Troup’s Kobe Hudson, committed to Auburn in early April 2018, and stood by that decision Wednesday.

This season Hudson threw for 3,386 yards with 32 touchdowns, and he also ran for 1,410 yards with 18 touchdowns.

Callaway running back Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby and offensive lineman Tate Johnson will also head to the plains in the fall to play for Auburn.

Bigsby ended his senior season with an extraordinary performance and is considered one of the country’s highest rated running backs.

Tate also made it clear last summer that he wanted to play for the Tigers.

All of these future Auburn Tigers themselves for this moment months ago, made a decision and stuck with it.

Regardless of how you feel about the Auburn Tigers and its top rivals — a conversation that is likely to start a lively debate just about anywhere in this part of the country — the three are heading to a program most would consider the cream of the crop.

Another early signee is Callaway’s wide receiver Jacob Freeman, who committed to play for  Georgia State. The Georgia State panthers play in the Sun Belt conference.

Freeman was a big-player for the Cavaliers this season, and he had 11-touchdown receptions as a senior.

Bigsby, Tate, Hudson and Freeman will get a chance to play in front of the nation on the biggest stages in college athletics. Both the players, their schools, coaches and parents should be extremely proud of what each player has accomplished. Other students should look at them as examples of what can happen with hard work and dedication.

We wish them all luck as they move on to the college level.
