The Troup-Harris Regional Library has announced Troup-Harris Reads One Book (THROB), its first one book, one community program for early 2020. According to a press release from the library, the program will span several weeks early first quarter in the New Year, culminating in an appearance from guest author Brian Panowich, whose book Bull Mountain is the focal point of the program.

“The aim of THROB is to develop and foster community, utilizing literacy to tap into broader, national conversations that impacts the citizens of Troup and Harris counties,” Desmond Watson, outreach strategist for the LaGrange Memorial Library. “Bull Mountain, I think, is the natural choice for a program that hopes to achieve these things.”

THROB will offer several ancillary programs to help facilitate the dialogue of the themes represented in Bull Mountain, partnering with the LaGrange Police Department and the LaGrange Fire Department, dates TBD. The program’s focal event with author Brian Panowich will take place Feb. 6, 7 p.m. at LaGrange College’s Callaway Auditorium, sponsored by the event’s co-partner LaGrange College.
