When it comes to boho-chic clothing and accessories, Twigs and Berries on Vernon Road has just about everything for anyone with a hippie-like style. 

The store has bright decor and designs, which immediately make an impression on customers. Hillory Barber, owner of Twigs and Berries, embraces customers with her bubbly personality. 

Barber said she opened Twigs and Berries in May of 2016 when she decided she no longer wanted to drive out of town to go shopping for clothes that fit her style. 

“My mom and I had to drive to a neighboring town to get any of our shopping done,” Barber said. “After a while, we thought it would be a good idea to open a shop of our own in town so other people like us had a place to shop, too.” 

From there, Barber took her degree in marketing and began her business. Twigs and Berries has an assortment of gifts, clothing and accessories. The store has a boho feel, selling clothing and accessories designed with positive messages to provide a flair of fun and cheer to the store. 

“Anything that we see that makes us happy, we buy for the store,” Barber said. “We want to share the love with our customers and with the community.”

Through her shop, Barber said has been able to meet people in the community and make several friends. 

“I just want to make people happy,” Barber said. “Sometimes, I feel like I’m a little therapist when people come in, which is nice. I want my shop to feel like home.”

As for the New Year, Barber plans to continue to grow her story and find exciting new items to sell in her store. 

“There are still a lot of people who don’t really know about us,” Barber said. “We’re currently trying new marketing to get our name out there.”

Twigs and Berries is located on 1681 Vernon Road. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The store is closed on Sundays.
