Callaway heads to Heard County

The Callaway Cavaliers began the second half of their Region 5-AA schedule with a big home win over Temple on Tuesday.

With that victory, Callaway moved into a tie for second place in the region with a 5-2 record, and it is within shouting distance of first-place Spencer, which is 6-0 in the region.

Temple, which split its two regular-season games with Callaway, is also 5-2 in the region.

Jordan and Heard County are tied for fourth at 3-4, and Bremen and Lamar County share last place with 1-6 region records.

On the girls’ side, Callaway has won four of its past five region games to improve to 4-3, and it is fourth place.

Heard County and Lamar County are tied for first place at 6-1, and Bremen is alone in third place at 5-2.

Behind Callaway its Spencer (2-4) Temple (1-6) and Jordan (0-7).
