She’s the queen of dresses. 

Amy Warren opened An Affair to Remember about 12 years ago and has been serving Troup County and beyond with all thing dresses for every and any occasion. 

Located on the corner of Lafayette Square in downtown, passersby can always see the latest trending bridal or event dress in the front window.  

“We started about a block down in our original location, and then I have been in this location for about nine years now,” Warren said. “I was a dental hygienist before this so I always joke that this is way more fun than cleaning teeth.” 

Warren saw the need for a bridal shop not only for LaGrange but for all of Troup County after having to go four hours away to find her wedding dress. 

“I always joke that the dream started at the Bridal Barn in Waycross, Georgia,” Warren said. “When I was shopping, I thought I would love to do something like this. When I was able to be home with my kids, I was just doing fill-in work with dentistry. Then I was ready to go back to work it kind of progressed into opening a shop, and here we are now.” 

An Affair to Remember is currently the only bridal shop in the county. They also offer tuxedos, mother of the bride dresses, bridesmaids and much more. 

“Prom is also a really big thing for us here,” Warren said. “I think it’s pretty special that we get to be a part of somebody’s most important day of their life.”

Warren said it’s a big honor and responsibility to be that large factor in someone’s wedding day or prom night. 

“That is a big deal even when you are in high school,” Warren said. “That is a big motivator for us; if we can love people by helping them in such an important time.” 

Every bride or customer that walks through the shop’s door has a different story and wants a specific style. 

“It’s the people you get to be around really,” Warren said. “It’s the experiences that you get and everybody has something different that they are doing. You get to be creative, and it’s such a special time.” 

Warren said now that she has had her shop in the community for more than a decade, it has come around full circle. 

“It’s kind of neat now to watch the girls that came in for their prom dresses, that are now grown up and getting married are coming back to get wedding dresses,” Warren said. 

Warren said her window is a key component and a staple of the shop. 

“Literally somebody every single day says something about the window,” Warren said. “They say, ‘I love your window. I come and drive by to see what the latest dress is in the window.’ Or we will watch them from our side and see them point and say which one they like. I have grandpas bring their little girls or their granddaughters to just to look at the sparkly dresses.” 

The shop sees a lot of dreams come true with dresses, which also includes a lot of happy tears shed. 

“We keep Kleenex on hand,” Warren said. “We cry too. If they cry, we cry. I am so thankful for the community that we have gotten to be a part of, and that we have been able to stay open in this great little town.”
