LaGrange’s very own Biblical History Center recently announced it has been nominated by a USA Today panel as a contender for Best Religious Museum.

“We are so excited,” said Director of Development and Marketing Holly Winner. “I’m familiar with this contest and have participated with it in the past. We are just really excited for the endorsement from a company like USA Today.”

Winner said that they attribute the nomination to the employee’s passion for the museum.

The nomination is part of USA Today’s 2020 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel awards where Best Religious Museum is a new category.

“We love what we do here, and we love being able to work with the visitors and really bring the ancient world thing to the local world can life for them,” Winner said. “To see the understanding and the knowledge that they leave with is really wonderful.”

The Ancient World comes to life at Biblical History Center through special events like Roman Army Day, guided tours amongst 26 archaeological replicas, more than 250 daily life use artifacts on long term loan from the Israeli Antiquity Authority, and the famous Biblical Meal experience event.

“We found out last week,” Winner said. “It was really thrilling. To love what you do, and then to get that kind of recognition for it is a really wonderful feeling.”

Best Religious Museum voting is open until Feb. 17, 2020. Participants can vote once per day per device via BHC’s Facebook page.

“We are a gem, and we’re one of a kind,” Winner said. “To get this kind of recognition for a museum that we have in our own community is really great. We have great things here in LaGrange, and we’re excited to really be a part of that and to help serve our community.”
