local organization in LaGrange has a chance to win a USA Today Reader’s Choice Award.

The LaGrange Biblical History Center has been nominated for such an award and was recently announced as part of USA Today’s 2020 10 Best Readers’ Choice travel awards. The Best Religious Museum is a new category this year.

The history center’s Director of Development and Marketing Holly Winner says everybody at the center is excited just to be endorsed by a media giant like USA Today. We are pretty excited, too, at the prospect of one of the organizations here in LaGrange having the opportunity to gain national exposure.

The Best Religious Museum voting is open until Feb. 17, and participants can vote once per day per device on the center’s Facebook page.

Winner said she’s glad to see the center’s hard work shine through to others, and anybody who has been to the center knows they put a lot of hard work in to do what they do.

“We love what we do here, and we love being able to work with the visitors and really bring the ancient world thing to the local world can life for them,” Winner said. “To see the understanding and the knowledge that they leave with is really wonderful.”

The Ancient World comes to life at Biblical History Center through special events like Roman Army Day, guided tours amongst 26 archaeological replicas, more than 250 daily life use artifacts on long term loan from the Israeli Antiquity Authority, and the famous Biblical Meal experience event.

We are rooting for the biblical center and hope USA Today recognizes how much it means to the area. We understand there is probably some stiff competition, especially since it’s a new award, many will be vying to take home such an honor.

Win or lose, we are happy to see the recognition for LaGrange the surrounding area, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for the winner of the award.
