Man arrested for shooting into occupied building

A LaGrange man was arrested Sunday morning for shooting a firearm into an occupied building, according to a news release from the LaGrange Police Department. 

At about 3 a.m. in the 100 block of Turner Street, officers were made aware of a number of shots being fired into an apartment. Once on scene, officers secured the scene and identified Jartarcus Brown, 25, as the suspect. 

According to Sgt. Robert Kirby, Brown was identified through interviews conducted at the scene of the incident. He said there was some sort of relationship between Brown and one of the individuals in the house, which prompted Brown shooting into the residence. 

Kirby said there were three individuals inside the residence and one juvenile. However, there were no injuries. 

A few hours later, Brown was arrested at another residence and was taken to the Troup County Jail. He has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault. According to Troup County Jail records, he does not have a bond amount.
