Mary Laster Bruce — 1928-2020

Mrs. Mary Laster Bruce, 91, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Blue Skies Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mrs. Bruce was born Feb. 5, 1928, daughter of the late Willie Thomas Laster and Geneva Bradley Laster.

A resident of LaGrange for more than 70 years, she was employed by Bank of America prior to her retirement, was a longtime member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and now Fountain Church, and was a member of Laureate Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.  She enjoyed travel, reading, crossword puzzles and game shows.

Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Faye and Clinton Sledge of LaGrange, Paula  Osterhoudt of Las Vegas; sisters, Linda and Gene Ayers of Hogansville, Grace Cagle of New London, Texas; brother, Ed and Barbara Laster of Snellville; a grandson, Alan Osterhoudt; granddaughters, Laura Guinn and her husband Robert, Suzanne Laubenthal and her husband Tom; and a great-grandchild, Brady Guinn.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Bruce.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday.
