On Tuesday evening, 67-year-old Dennis Binion was struck by a vehicle, and died from his injuries near the intersection of Hamilton Road and Burgess Road.

According to Georgia State Patrol, there are still no suspects or vehicle descriptions due to a lack of information and witnesses.

“We are pleading for anyone to come forward to let us know what happened,” said Will Binion, Dennis Binion’s son. “Somebody knows what happened. We just want something. If someone knows what happened, I would like them to come forward.”

Binion said his dad was walking on the side of the road on his way to a nearby store when someone hit him.

“He was found by someone, and they called 911,” Binion said.

Dennis Binion was transferred to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 1:05 a.m.

“He was very well-known throughout the community and owned and operated his own business, Binion Southern Enterprise,” Binion said. “He helped many young people with their first job. He was a very dedicated family man.”

According to Binion, his father would have been 68 years old next week.

“We just want whoever did this to come forward or if anyone has any information to let us know,” Binion said.

The Georgia State Patrol office is investigating the case.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Troup Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000 or GSP Post 2 at (706) 845-4104.
