Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Congratulations to the handful of players at Callaway, LaGrange High and Troup High  School who signed their letters of intent during ceremonies on Wednesday.

National Signing Day is all about recruits putting on the hat of their choosing and getting fans excited about what the future might hold in the process.

Four football players who were a part of an ultra-successful senior class at Troup High have made their decisions.

Andy Boykin (Arkansas), Jabralin Gooden (Iowa Western), Trey Williams (Shorter University) and Devon Hill (New Mexico Military Institute) each signed their letters of intent on Wednesday during a ceremony at the school.

The Callaway Cavaliers are coming off the best four-year stretch in the history of the program, and a group of talented and committed seniors had a lot to do with that success.

Seven of those seniors are getting an opportunity to play college football, and four of them participated in a signing-day ceremony on Wednesday morning.

The Callaway signees were Antinez Blount (Valdosta State), Anthony Elliott (Georgia Military College), Zach Neighbors (LaGrange College) and Jabari Smith (Faulkner).

Additionally, Luke Swann signed a baseball scholarship with Coastal Alabama Community College.

For LaGrange High’s Will Flowers who didn’t begin playing football until he was a junior, made up for lost time.

Flowers, an Granger offensive lineman, was a key member of the team  for the past two seasons, and his good work didn’t go unnoticed by college coaches.

Flowers had a handful of offers to choose from, and in the end, he decided East Tennessee State University was the place for him to continue playing football.

Flowers committed to East Tennessee last week, and he made it official Wednesday.

Two other LaGrange seniors, Keone Milton and Qua Bowles, also signed their letters of intent on Wednesday, and they’ll be teammates at Georgia Knights Prep Academy in Snellville.

Although it is extremely exciting that these players will be able to play at the next level, most important part is they’ll be given a chance to earn a good education.

That’s life changing.

The parents of each of these students should be extremely proud, as well as the teachers and administrators that helped them along the way.

We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for their college journeys.
