Multiple schools were put on lockdown Thursday morning after the LaGrange Police Department received calls in reference to a person who had been shot.

According to Det. Ley Wynne, LPD responded to the North Davis Road between Hammet and Youngsmill Road at approximately 10 a.m. where they found an unidentified victim on the side of the road with a gunshot wound to the head.

Wynne said the neighboring schools took the extra precaution of going under lockdown due to the proximity of the incident.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their wound. There are currently no updates on the victim’s health.

LPD is currently investigating the incident.

All school lockdowns were lifted by 11 a.m. Thursday morning.
