It’ll be a busy day on the baseball field for Callaway, LaGrange and Troup, with all three teams set to play two games on Saturday.

While Callaway and LaGrange will be at home, Troup will play twice at the LakePoint complex in Emerson.

Callaway will play Jeff Davis and Vidalia, with the doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m.

First up will be a game against Jeff Davis, which won the Class AA state championship last season with a victory over Rockmart.

Callaway came close to earning a title shot of its own, but it lost a hard-fought series to Rockmart in the state semifinals.

Vidalia, meanwhile, reached the quarterfinals of the Class AA state playoffs last year before losing to Harlem.

Callaway (1-1) beat Bowdon 6-3 last week for its first win of the season.

LaGrange will have a home doubleheader against Calvary Christian, with the first game starting at 11 a.m.

Troup, meanwhile, will play Marietta at noon, and Chattahoochee at 2:30 p.m.

SOCCER: LaGrange High’s boys’ team will be a part of the West Georgia Soccer Showcase at Kinnett Stadium on Saturday.

There will be five games, including one between LaGrange and Columbus at 4 p.m.

LaGrange improved to 3-1 with last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Fort Payne, which was ranked first in Class AAAAAA in Alabama. Columbus, like LaGrange a Class AAAA program, is als 3-1, and it beat Dougherty 10-1 last week.
