It’s been a dream she’s been working on for years.

On Tuesday morning, State Farm agent Costa Head celebrated the grand opening of her own State Farm location on South Davis Road.

“This is what I have dreamed about,” Head said. “This is what I have worked so hard for in Atlanta. I was working toward getting my own agency for a number of years.”

Head got her start with State Farm in 2017 in Marietta, Georgia, where she worked as a team member before moving to LaGrange in October 2019.

“I grew up in Columbus, and I wanted to come back closer to home,” Head said. “I love the small town feel and being able to make a difference a community.”

Head said she hopes to help people in the LaGrange community completely understand their insurance.

“To me, being able to properly protect a family is something that makes me feel like I have done what I was supposed to do,” Head said. “It has been great being in LaGrange, and it has been a lot of fun getting to know my customers.”

When Head was working in a larger city, she wasn’t able to have as deep of a connection with her customers.

“I am able to sit across from my customers now and be face-to-face and connect with them,” Head said. “In Atlanta, a lot of times it’s hard to have that face-to-face connection, and that’s what I wanted and what I was craving. Sitting across from somebody and really getting to know them and their family is what I think is the only way to properly protect somebody.”

Head said she looks forward to being an active member of the LaGrange community.

“I want to do what I can to give back,” Head said. “That is the biggest goal for me, is to give back to the community that has basically invited me into their world. I want to be able to do whatever I can to do whether it is helping build the school system or making LaGrange a better place.”

Head is joined with six other State Farm agents located across the community.

She said meeting for dinners each week exploring new restaurants with them has helped her learn the community more.

Head is licensed to write insurance in home, auto, life and health in both Georgia and Alabama. Head also offers banking services to her customers.
