Mr. James Edward Harris passed away Sunday.

He was born March 18, 1959, to the late Jessie Lee and Iris Lee Harris in LaGrange.

He united with Sardis Baptist Church, graduated from LaGrange High School and served in the US Navy. 

James was previously employed by Callaway Middle School.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Ligon Harris; children: Debra Ligon, Raliegh (Carletta) Ligon, all of Louisville, Kentucky; Teresa (Gregory) Thompson, LaGrange; Michelle Morgan, Savannah, Georgia; Yolanda Morgan, Christina Ligon, Crystal (Travis) Blandingburg, all of LaGrange; sisters: Freddie Magby and Gail McCord; brothers: Larry Favors, Alton Harris, Michael Harris, Norman Harris; special niece and caregiver, Sabrina Wilson; aunts: Betty Hill and Tonya Carter; uncle Anthony Hill; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; eighty-one nieces and nephews and an array of cousins and friends.

The Service will be Saturday 1 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church.

Interment will follow at Southview Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be at their homes at 1207 Lindsey Street and 234 Hearthstone Drive.
