The Callaway Cavaliers dropped both ends of a doubleheader to home-standing Westminster on Saturday.

The first game was tight, with Westminster holding off a Callaway rally to win 5-4.

The second game was all Westminster, which eased to a 9-0 victory.

In the first game, the Cavaliers scored single runs in each of the final four innings to get within one, but the Wildcats held on for the narrow win.

Luke Swann had two doubles for Callaway, and Justin Moore had a hit and an RBI.

Jabari Smith had two RBIs, and Andrew Locke and Tucker Starling each had a hit.

Moore was Callaway’s starting pitcher, and he threw 5 2/3 innings before Starling got the final out of the sixth inning.

In Saturday’s second game, Jabari Smith and Nate Lee each had a hit for Callaway, but the game belonged to Westminster.

It was scoreless until the Wildcats scored three runs in the third inning, and they broke it open with five runs in the fourth.

Dawson Wright and Zach Neighbors both pitched for Callaway, and Neighbors didn’t allow a hit in 2 2/3 innings.
