The Troup Tigers made easy work of the visiting Shaw Raiders on Friday.

With three pitchers combining for the shutout, Troup rolled to a 10-0 home win to improve to 5-6.

Troup will try to even its record with a road win over Callaway on Saturday, with first pitch set for 4 p.m.

Cole Garner, Grayson Garner, Devon Murphy and Brett Haynes each pitched well for Troup.

Cole Garner started and pitched two innings, and with the help of four strikeouts, he worked around two hits to hold Shaw scoreless.

Next to the mound was Grayson Garner, and he gave up just one hit in two innings with three strikeouts.

Devon Murphy and Brett Haynes each threw one scoreless inning to finish it.

The Tigers did a lot of their offensive damage in the second inning with six runs, and they added single runs in the third and sixth innings and two runs in the fourth.

Carson Garner had two hits and three RBIs, Cole Garner had two hits and an RBI, Luke Purnell had a hit and two RBIs, Murphy, Daniel Martin and Hunter Kitchens each had a hit, and Grayson Garner had an RBI.

It was Troup’s first game in more than a week, and head coach Craig Garner was able to get nearly every available player in the game.

“I didn’t get one player in the game, and he’s normally a starter (Reed Morris). He was fixing to come in and pitch the last inning,” Garner said. “So we were able to get four guys in pitching, get them some work. Everybody was able to get in and play. So all the way around it ended up being a good ballgame.”
