It was a tough day for the Callaway Cavaliers, who fell to home-standing Bremen 10-3 on Tuesday in a Region 5-AA game.

Callaway (5-7 overall), which fell to 2-1 in the region, will host a doubleheader with Bremen on Friday.

Callaway has a non-region home game against LaGrange on Wednesday.

In Tuesday’s game, the Cavaliers were trailing 6-0 when they pushed three runs across in the top of the fourth inning. The comeback stalled at that point, though, with Bremen scoring the game’s final three runs.

The Cavaliers scored their runs with the long ball.

After Justin Moore led off the fourth inning with a single, Wesley Marchman launched the ball over the outfield fence for a two-run home run.

Luke Swann followed with a solo home run, cutting Bremen’s lead to 6-3.

The Blue Devils answered with a single run in the bottom of the fourth inning, and they capped the scoring with two runs in the fifth.

Marchman finished with three hits, Moore had two hits, and Swann and Kaden Rogers each had one hit.

Tucker Starling, Jabari Smith and Ayden Brooks each pitched for Callaway, with Brooks throwing a scoreless seventh inning.
