Multiple restaurants in LaGrange have decided to close their dining room service, but will still keep carry out and drive-thrus open.

On Sunday, Chick-fil-A on both Commerce Avenue and Lafayette Parkway, announced that they will temporarily close their dining rooms, but both restaurants are still serving customers through the drive-thru.

According to Dairy Queen owner James Van Schoor, it is following the same steps as Chick-fil-A and closing its dining room. Van Schoor said they are keeping the drive-thru open and still taking in phone orders.

“We are also discussing the potential of doing deliveries as well,” Van Schoor said.

The Subway on Lafayette Parkway has also closed its dining room, but is keeping online ordering available and offering only carry-out.

Mare Sol in Downtown LaGrange is currently keeping its doors open for dining, but it is taking extra steps to stanitze the restaurant.

“We have changed the way we are operating,” said co-owner Chase Hudson. “We used to put silverware on tables, but we are no longer doing that. We are bringing everything out pre-wrapped and clean to order. We’re trying to really distance people in the restaurant.”

Hudson said they are limiting the restaurant’s occupants to a max of 40 to 50 people.

“We are also in the process of putting together a curbside pick-up, so if anyone wants to call in their food and pick it up, they are welcome to do that,” Hudson said. “If or when the government does require us to shut down, we are working on putting together our own delivery service. We haven’t put it together yet, but we will do that if we have to shut down to the public, if it’s allowed.”

Hudson said DoorDash delivery service is also available.

Steven Keeth, owner of Charlie Joseph’s in downtown LaGrange, said the business will resume normal business and seating as usual until told otherwise.

As of Monday afternoon, Your Pie is keeping its dining room open. Your Pie restaurant manager, Jared Chamblee, said that could change tomorrow after they have a meeting with the owner and partners.

“We are trying to incorporate curb-side pick-up,” Chamblee said. “But we will figure that out with the owner at the meeting.”

Chamblee said that they will keep the community updated on their plans through social media.

Both the LaGrange and Hogansville locations for Karvelas Pizza Company will remain open for dine-in and carry out, according to owner Joey Karvelas.

“We are just playing it day by day right now to see how everything goes,” Karvelas said. “We are not in panic mode or anything like that. We are going to do what we always do and follow the strict guidelines for cleaning. We believe in it and always have.”

Karvelas said if anything does happen that affects the dining-in portion of the restaurant, they are prepared to adjust.

“If we make any changes, we plan on letting everybody know through social media,” Karvelas said.
