Troup County community leaders to host Facebook Live discussion today at 11 a.m.

Troup County community leaders plan to host a Facebook Live discussion about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at 11 a.m. today on the city’s LGTV Facebook page www.facebook.com/lgtv.org/. The LaGrange Daily News will also stream the event on Facebook Live.

City officials have said this is a virtual meeting and the public is invited to watch online.

The following representatives are planning to participate: LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton, Troup County Commission Chairman Patrick Crews, Troup County School System Superintendent Dr. Brian Shumate, Troup County Chief Deputy Jon Whitney, WellStar West Georgia President Coleman Foss, and District 4 Health Director Dr. Olugbenga Obasanjo.

Each representative will provide an update about the virus then answer questions.

Residents are encouraged to post questions on the Facebook Live post.

A news release from the city said the purpose of this meeting is to inform and educate the public about the ongoing preventative measures surrounding the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
