NEWEST NUMBERS: Georgia tops 1,000 COVID-19 cases, Troup County has six confirmed cases

Georgia saw its number of COVID-19 cases jump to over 1,000 in the morning update from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The state has 1,026 total cases. The state posted on the recording website that the large increase is due to an improvement in the reporting efficiency from commercial laboratories.

Troup County also saw its confirmed case count jump from four to six. Check back for more on this developing story.
