GERSON OLIVER TREADWELL 

1938-2020

Gerson “Tubby” Oliver Treadwell, 82, of LaGrange, passed away on April 5, 2020, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. 

He was born on Feb. 24, 1938, to the late Clifford Treadwell and Hettie Gay Treadwell in Roanoke, Alabama. He retired form Milliken and Company after 45 years of service. 

Mr. Treadwell served in the National Guard and was a past member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, William Treadwell, Milford “Jake” Treadwell, and Jerry Treadwell. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Miriam McKeen Treadwell; daughter, Donna Treadwell Askins; brother, Claude Treadwell (Jan); grandchildren, John Askins (Amber) and Jared Askins (Elizabeth); great grandchildren, Tyler Askins, Wesley Askins, and Logan Askins; many extended family and friends. 

Due to public health concerns, viewing visitation only will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. with the legal number of people as mandated by the State of Georgia allowed in the facility at a time. 

Private graveside services will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Hank Stephens and Reverend Ann Baker officiating. 

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in memory of Mr. Treadwell to WellStar West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Rd, LaGrange, Georgia, 30240.
